Industry: Trades
Pay: Hourly wage
Opportunity: Gain up to four years of apprenticeship training in any of the apprenticeable trades.

First Nations Summer Health Internship
For: Grade 11 and 12 First Nations students living on-reserve
Where: On select First Nations reserves in Alberta
Industry: Health
Pay: Honorarium (one-time payment)
Opportunity: Learn about a career in health services and earn up to nine high school credits working at your local on-reserve health centre in a three-week summer internship.

Fourth Class Powering Engineering Program
For: High school students
Where: Select areas of Alberta. Ask us if this program is available where you live.
Industry: Industrial Technology - Power Engineering
Pay: Hourly wage
Opportunity: Take post-secondary, power engineering theory courses alongside your regular high school classes, work in a power engineering internship each summer and, if you start in grade 10, graduate eligible to write the exam for Fourth Class Power Engineering Certification.

Health Care Aide Program
For: High school students
Where: Select areas of Alberta. Ask us if this program is available where you live.
Industry: Health Care
Pay: Honorarium (one-time payment)
Opportunity: Take health card aide theory courses alongside your regular high school classes, work in a clinical internship over the summer and, if you start in grade 10, graduate as a fully certified Health Care Aide with credit towards post-secondary education.

Oil and Gas Production Field Operator Program
For: High school students

Industry: Industrial Technology - Oil and Gas
Pay: Hourly wage
Opportunity: Take production field operations theory courses alongside your regular high school classes, work in an internship each summer and, if you start in grade 10, graduate with certification in production field operations.

Registered Apprenticeship Program
For: High school students
Where: All across Alberta
Industry: Trades
Pay: Hourly wage
Opportunity: Begin with a 125-hour internship with an employer in one of over 50 registered trades. If you decide to pursue your trade as a career (and your employer is happy with your work so far), you'll get registered as an apprentice and keep working with your employer. Once you're registered, all your working hours will go towards your first year apprenticeship required hours. You'll also earn high school credits for your work.
