CAREERS: The Next Generation provides valuable career resources to junior high and high school students all across Alberta. We bring the career development process full circle – from student education to employer recruitment to student interview prep to industry internships.
Student Workshops and Parent Evenings
CAREERS hosts in-class workshops for junior high and high school students to introduce them to such areas as the trades, health services and industrial technologies and talk to them about the internship opportunities we offer.
We also provide informational evenings students and parents can attend together to help parents support their child in their career goals.

With internship programs in health, trades and industrial technologies, we help educators encourage youth to develop and achieve career goals.
Many teenagers don’t know exactly what they want to do after graduation. CAREERS works with you to connect them with employers offering paid internship opportunities. Students can explore an industry through our programs while earning high school credit and a fair wage . Many of our programs even offer the opportunity to earn certification or apprenticeship, putting your students on track to succeed.
Our expert field team recruits employers to hire the students, and is available to assist you with pre-screening interviews and student interview prep prior to internship.
Educators and parents have told us their students’ grades, self-esteem and drive improve while participating in a CAREERS internship opportunity.

Students from grades 9-12 are welcome to attend our two- to four-day career camps. Camps are great way for students to briefly explore their interest in a industry and get a feel for what its about.
