Annual Stakeholder Celebration - 2007 Minimize

CAREERS: The Next Generation hosted the 2nd Annual Stakeholder Celebration on March 1st, 2007 to celebrate a year of success and recognize investors and partners who have helped build strong, vibrant communities where youth develop their paths to career success.

Industry leaders, community stakeholders, and the CAREERS team and Board gathered at an event hosted by Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton to commemorate CAREERS’ milestone successes and valuable partnerships.

Continuing to honour our five year milestone investors, we awarded ALGOR Enterprises Inc. with an Inukshuk Sculpture.  The Inukshuk is the perfect symbol to express our relationships with our supporters because it represents leadership and the significance of establishing direction in an organization. It also represents the significance of team work and community spirit.

Shirley Dul – Assistant Deputy Minister, Alberta Advanced Education and Technology, Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Branch is the 2007 recipient of the Eric P. Newell Award of Excellence for her active involvement in the CAREERS mission since the foundation was incorporated in 1997.  She has been a strong advocate for the Register Apprenticeship Program and for youth awareness about apprenticeship careers.

The Eric P. Newell Award of Excellence was created in 2006 to honour a stakeholder that demonstrates outstanding support and leadership of the mission and goals of CAREERS: The Next Generation.

Congratulations Ms. Dul.  Your bold passion to help Alberta’s youth succeed in trades is the mark of a true champion.
